A: The experience of discomfort during waxing can vary from person to person and also depends on factors such as the area being waxed, your pain tolerance, and your hair texture. However, most clients find that the discomfort lessens with regular waxing as the hair becomes finer and the follicles weaken. Q: What can I do to make my waxing experience more comfortable? A: 1. Gently exfoliate the day before your wax to remove dead skin cells. 2. Take a pain reliever 45 minutes before hour appointment. 3. Schedule your wax around your menstrual cycle. Typically 3 days before and 3 days after your cycle you are generally more sensitive to discomfort. 4. Avoid alcohol and caffeine before your wax for it can make you more sensitive to pain. 5. Most importantly during your wax try to relax. Deep breathing exercises can help alleviate tension and reduce discomfort. Q: Is there anything I should avoid before my wax? A: Before waxing: 1. Avoid exfoliation on the day of your wax. 2. Refrain from using lotions or oils on the waxing area. 3. Stay out of the sun or tanning beds. Sun burned skin CAN NOT be waxed. 4. Stop using exfoliating ingredients like but not limited to Retinols or Salicylic Acid five days before your wax. 5. Avoid skin treatments like Botox, facials, chemical peels or laser treatments before waxing. Please consult your esthetician if you had a skin treatment performed with in 2 weeks before your wax. If there is any skin irritation or redness on the area that is to be waxed the waxer has the right to refuse the service for the clients safety. Q: Is it okay to get waxed while I am taking medications? A: Some medications can increase skin sensitivity or thin the skin, affecting waxing. Inform your esthetician of any medications you're taking, including but not limited to blood thinners, oral acne medication (like Isotretinoin/ Accutane), steroids, or chemotherapy drugs. Consult your healthcare provider or dermatologist if unsure. They can advise on safety and suggest alternative hair removal methods if needed. Q: Is it okay to wax while I am on my menstrual cycle? A: Waxing during your menstrual cycle is totally fine, but please freshen up and use a clean tampon or menstrual cup before your appointment. Complimentary sanitary wipes and tampons are provided in the studio. If unable to use these, we'll need to reschedule. Feel free to reschedule as soon as possible if uncomfortable waxing during your cycle. Q: Is it safe to get waxed while pregnant? A: Waxing during pregnancy is generally safe, but increased skin sensitivity is common. Consult your healthcare provider before any beauty treatments, including waxing, for personalized advice based on your medical history. Q: Can I bring a guest in the treatment room with me? A: Legal guardians can accompany clients under 18 in the treatment room. For clients over 18, only the client is allowed. While young children in the treatment room are not preferred, parents may bring them if necessary. Children must behave and stay seated during the appointment. If frequent interruptions occur, the service will need to be rescheduled. Q: Can children be waxed? A: Ensuring the safety and comfort of young clients is paramount in our waxing services. If a child expresses discomfort or reluctance, the service stops, regardless of parental wishes. We do not perform lower face waxing on male clients and refrain from bikini waxing for males under 18 and females under 12.Business Hours
